Good article...but here's the thing...Abbot and others have been arguing that their states and the nation should never really have been closed. They've advocated against small groups, masks, and social distancing. They and their Dear Leader (until Jan) told us that it would be over by last May, that it was a hoax, that we had nothing to worry about. As a result, over half a million are dead. So, to give them credit now is specious. I remember, just a bit later than this time last year, conservatives were regaling the governor of SD for her approach to COVID, which was essentially, "What...us worry?" At the time, there was evidence to support that applause. Later in the year....not so much.
